Preston's Halloween costume that he did not like to wear

a few misc notes....

First of all, I wonder how many mothers lose their kids at a park every day.  I wonder if they realize that the people they pay as caregivers dont watch their child for thirty minutes at a time while they are on the playground.  Mike and I took Preston over to a playground near our house and witnessed this today.  It was not a mother, but somone employed to watch three children.  She sat on the ground, with her back to the playground and an infant near her, and played on her phone.  And i am not talking a teenager.  She was a grown woman.  The two other children, whom i dont think were related, just ran around the playground.  She didnt once check on them and when it came time to leave she just called for little tyler, not even panicking a little when she couldnt see him for ten minutes.  This is why i will never leave my child with an individual person who is not held accountable by anyone ese.  Obviously her first priority were not those children.  I wish I could find those parents and tell them what I saw.  What would that woman feel if one of those children disappeared under her watch??

On another note, Mike has decided I have landed on the key to fraud protection:  last name hyphenation.  What i have found is that everyone has a different way to enter your name when you hyphenate (guess there is still no regulation on things like that).  Meaning, it is really hard to even get through to your credit report unless you know how they do it.  It took me so long to access my own, we figure no one will be able to open something in my name because you wont be able to access a credit history.  So....my hubby who hated the fact that i hyphenated, and constantly gives me hell about it, has decided there might be something to it now.  Great Mike.  I did it all for the credit fraud protection.  Now I am brillant wife and not the difficult one that i was before.

Preston has finally used the potty.  Probably not the best first potty memory a mom could have....but i will definitely remember it.  We sat down to eat some chicken spaghetti (little mans favorite), and towards the end of the meal, Prestons starts crying really hard.  First i pull him out of his seat and go to clean his face and hands and notice that he is soaked all over his bottom.  It looked like an insane diaper leak, so i was concerned.  I got him into the bathroom, cleaned his hands, took his pants and diaper off....and thats when he started gagging.  I dont know what was wrong, but it seemed like he was trying to get something out of his mouth.  As he had all of his clothes off, I sat him on his lightening mcqueen potty, so he could be more comfortable.  He was reaching into his mouth and still crying hard.  Mike reached into his mouth and at the same time Preston threw up all over him :(  Crying even harder now, I tried to soothe him while starting a bath for this horrendous mess.  Mike is cleaning puke off the floor, Preston is naked on the potty with vomit everywhere, I am trying to hold him and console him and get the bath going.  Hectic moment.  Daddy leaves to get some cleaning stuff and i get Preston calmed down.  The next thing i know, I look down and my boy is going peepee in the potty!!!!  Just like the song we sing :)  It was exciting,  He looked scared, I mean, he had just been through some crazy ordeal, but then when he realized why I was cheering him on, he got really excited.  We got the potty and flushed it down the toilet.  He finally got to say bye bye to his own peepee!!  :)  lol.  The best part, once i put him in the bath, he didnt freak out like normal either.  I guess he learned that there are other things that are scarier than bath time.  Love that kid.  I am so proud of the wonderful little toddler he has become.  Even his pediatrician is so taken with him, and cant believe he is two because he acts so much better around people :)  I will get some pics posted of the little monkey soon.

  1. Congrats on the new blog!

It's really hard for me to leave Ethan with anyone not family just because you never know what they will do. Hopefully those kids parents will not have to find out the hard way.

We haven't even started on the potty yet! He does like to flush the toilet, though.
